María Luz Álvares Gutiérrez graduated in Physics from the University of the Basque Country in 1990. She obtained her master´s degree in Advanced manufacturing technologies in 1994. She is also an expert in Industrial IT (1994). She carries out her research activities in the department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She is currently working on her PhD, focusing on the development of a methodology for the automatic generation of distributed and resettable control systems software. She has been a member of the GCIS research group since 2011 and has participated as a researcher in projects related to distributed control systems.
